Gwyneth Paltrow says she's 'incredibly close to the common woman'
Thu Mar 19, 2015
In reply to:Stinkleton #8 Difference is she is in the financial place that her schedule is a choice. She could retire quite comfortably if she wanted to, unlike the "common woman". It is very arrogant for her to not recognize her privilege.
Teacher bias may help discourage girls from math, study finds
Mon Mar 9, 2015
I'm confused on how there can be a bias in grading math? I wish they would have mentioned how. Elementary math should be pretty straightforward as to if the work is right or wrong. I completely agree that adults projections can have an effect on children, I just don't understand ho …
My son has autism — and I am not anti-vaccine
Thu Feb 5, 2015
I do think this is beautifully written, but when speaking of autism and finding a reason/cure, I'd like to hear from parents that do not have high-functioning children. I do know someone that has a child that is not high-functioning. Lots of hospital visits, trips to the special school t …
Should you be able to sue a parent for not vaccinating their child?
Mon Feb 2, 2015
No. Vaccines aren't 100% so you can't prove that a vaccine would have prevented the person who infected your child from getting infected themselves. Vaccinated people are falling ill too.

In reply to: Terry-2939203 #7 When you have been exposed to Ebola, and the initial symptom is fever....ANYTHING above 98.6 should be cause for concern. My oral temperature actually sits at 97.7, therefore a 99.5 is definitely a fever for me.
How old is too old to trick or treat?
Mon Oct 13, 2014
When I was in high school, school-sponsored clubs would send us trick-or-treating for UNICEF donations. We always had fun with that. As long as kids are dressing up and acting appropriately- who cares?
'We've been in his shoes': Couple leaves $100 tip for bad service to thank overwhelmed waiter
Mon Sep 29, 2014
It does seem self-serving to me. "Hey - look what we did!". Hell, for all we know they didn't tip at all and wrote that on their copy and posted to FB. We recently did the exact opposite. Neither my husband nor I ever leave less that 20% and we left 10%. The server we h …
'Crack for toddlers': Mysterious toy review videos enchant kids, bring in millions of dollars
Thu Jul 31, 2014
In reply to: Heidi Quayle #1 Amen to that. I need a new money-making venture!
Sun Jun 22, 2014
There isn't one way to answer this. Depends on the child, the financial situation, etc. We won't ever have a 300 million net worth, however we have a trust set up that what we do have including life-insurance proceeds will go to help raise our kid in the event of our death and any remain …
